Following on from his huge technical knowledge of theatre and his profound experience as a performer; Matthew gained an M.A. in Drama Directing from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School with the Elsa Roberts Prize for Outstanding Achievement.

In addition to his freelance work Matthew Lloyd Davies has produced many shows as Artistic Director of his own company Lunatics And The Poor Ltd.​
